Round Rock ISD In 2014 voters approved three Round Rock ISD bond propositions totaling $299 million for new elementary and middle schools, updates to high schools, additional technology and the creation of two fine-arts venues.

At the time of the bond passage the district identified building new schools as its top priority because of population growth and overcrowding, according to RRISD documents.

This summer the district completed 25 bond projects totaling $12 million and completed 20 portable classrooms to help manage increasing enrollment.

RRISD Elementary School No. 34 is 19 percent complete as of December and is expected to open by the fall, according to RRISD documents.

In November the RRISD board of trustees approved a $34.2 million construction contract for Middle School No. 11.

The new middle school will have a floor plan similar to Walsh Middle School and is expected to include a dance gym and an expanded fine-arts wing, according to district officials.
