Cedar Park Walmart on Walton Way reopens grocery section Monday after fires damage store

The Cedar Park Walmart on Walton Way reopened its grocery portion of the store Monday morning at 8 a.m., according to a store employee. As of now there is no word on when other portions of the store will reopen.

A Cedar Park Walmart, at 201 Walton Way, will be closed until further notice after two fires were deliberately set inside the store Wednesday morning, according to Fox 7 Austin.

The station reported the Cedar Park Fire Department was dispatched to the store at 1:44 a.m. Nov. 22. Sprinklers inside the store helped control the flames in two different areas and firefighters extinguished hot spots when they arrived on the scene.

The store’s employees, according to Fox 7, have been reassigned to other stores in the area.

A suspect is in police custody and has not been charged.
