A preliminary plat for the proposed Crystal Springs subdivision was approved by Leander Planning and Zoning Commission Thursday night.

The plat is made up of six pieces of land, approximately 128.4 acres, located southeast of the intersection of Raider Way and East Crystal Falls parkway and west of the Cold Springs subdivision, said P&Z Commission Chair Sid Sokol. It contains 344 single-family lots, 14 open space lots, three parkland lots and one condominium regime lot, according to city documents.

The plat would require the removal of 14 heritage trees, while 104 heritage trees would be preserved, according to the packet. Tree removal was approved when the Crystal Springs planned unit development was originally approved.
