The Leander Planning and Zoning Commission approved a preliminary plat for new residential lots, a school and parks at the Bryson development off of US 183 during a meeting Thursday night.
The Bryson subdivision could grow by 204 single-family lots, one school lot, three park lots, four homeowners association landscaped lots and one HOA drainage lot,
according to the agenda packet. The plat, which is made up of five parcels of land, is approximately 103.32 acres.

Currently, the Bryson development is located off of US 183 and Bryson Ridge Trail. The new plat would extend the subdivision south, northeast of the intersection of US 183 and San Gabriel Parkway, said P&Z Commission Chair Sid Sokol.
The zoning commission's decision goes into affect immediately.
This came shortly after Leander City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the zoning of a planned unit development at the Bryson development to allow for cottage housing, local office and local commercial uses at
its meeting June 15. The 20.6 acre-property—located northeast of Huddleston Road and US 183—is scheduled to be split into around 6 acres for commercial development and 12 acres for cottage condominiums, according to city documents.
