Another Airstream park could be heading to Old Town Leander

Updated Nov. 2 at 10:47 a.m. to add more details about Smooth Village.

Leander City Council unanimously approved Nov. 1 the first reading of an ordinance allowing the development of a retail and food park featuring Airstream trailers in Old Town Leander.

The development, called Wildfire Park, would be located on a half-acre parcel at 209 W. Broade St.—two lots down from Smooth Village, which houses Smooth Hair & Wax Studio, a salon in an Airstream trailer. Earlier this year, City Council gave Smooth Village approval to have seven more Airstream or similar trailers for businesses on the property, according to city documents.

At Wildfire Park, Airstreams and similarly styled trailers would be set up along the perimeter, providing a central spot for tables and chairs. The trailers could serve as retailers, food trucks or bed-and-breakfast units.

The ordinance allowing for the park will face final approval Nov. 15.
