The Cedar Park Police Department unveiled its facility expansion Oct. 26. The project included renovations and a 12,200-square-foot, one-story addition to the police department located at 911 Quest Parkway, Cedar Park.
The $4,367,779 capital improvement project provides space for offices, training rooms and storage facilities. The project was paid for by voter-approved bonds from 2007 and 2015. Construction began in November 2017.
The addition comes as the city has seen population growth, and more officers have been brought on to the department as a result. Police department personnel has grown by 91.5 percent since 2003, according to a press release.
At the unveiling, Chief of Police Sean Mannix said the building is designed to accommodate continued growth in the city.
“I can’t emphasize enough to the members of the community that this is your building,” Mannix said. “We are a community policing department. We work in partnership with the community, so please feel free to come see us.”
