Corbin Van Arsdale was voted the new Cedar Park mayor with 26 of 27 Williamson County polling locations reporting, and all Travis County votes counted.

He wins with 69.65 percent of votes, and Bob Cornelius earned 30.35 percent of votes.

"Our family literally loves Cedar Park," Van Arsdale said. "It will be a real honor to continue serving Cedar Park residents on the council as mayor, and work with all of our council members, all of our staff and all of our residents—to keep this great thing we have going, and make it even better."

Mel Kirkland won the Cedar Park City Council, Place 2 seat with 55.44 percent of the vote, and his opponent Michael Thompson earned 44.56 percent of the vote.

Mike Guevara won the Cedar Park City Council, Place 4 seat with 56.85 percent of votes, and Patrick Walz earned 43.15 percent.

Dorian Chavez won the seat of Cedar Park City Council, Place 6 with 54.15 percent of the votes against Shellie Hayes McMahon, who garnered 45.85 percent of the vote.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.

Early voting results have come in for Cedar Park races for mayor, City Council Place 2, City Council Place 4 and City Council Place 6.

Early voting results show Van Arsdale in the lead for mayor in both Travis and Williamson counties; Kirkland in the lead for City Council, Place 2 in both counties; Guevara in the lead for City Council, Place 4 in both counties; and Chavez in the lead for City Council, Place 6 in both counties.

Voters also considered 22 ballot propositions, including propositions related to stormwater drainage, City Council vacancies, zoning and gender neutral language in the city charter. Readers may view this article to find out more about the ballot language and explanations on the propositions.

In Cedar Park's 2016 municipal election, 6.08 percent of registered voters cast a ballot for a mayoral candidate. That year, the city elected Cobby Caputo to City Council Place 4, Kristyne Bollier to City Council Place 6 and Mayor Matt Powell, who announced in January that he would not seek re-election. Van Arsdale ran unopposed for City Council Place 2 in 2016.
