“Throughout the project all of the culverts with the exception of two very large culverts on the [Hwy.] 71 end of the projects are complete,” Chu said. “Construction is continuing on widening the westernmost portion of the project.”
The project will improve traffic congestion, safety and mobility along the 6.3-mile stretch of Hamilton Pool Road between RR 12 and Hwy. 71.
Improvements on the roadway will include new travel lanes in both directions and shoulders on both sides of the road for emergency use as well as adding a continuous center turn and dedicated turning lanes.
