A release from Austin Public Works states routine maintenance of the Redbud Trail Bridge over Lady Bird Lake will cause lane closures beginning July 20.

Work from the city of Austin will be focused on one of the bridge abutments underneath the road on the north side of the bridge. It will also be conducted below the bridge on boats and by divers, the release states.

"Residents can expect temporary lane closures along the bridge between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday," the release states. "Traffic control flaggers will be on-site to assist, and vehicles will still be able to cross the bridge at all times. These closures will not impact access to Red Bud Isle Park."

Information from Austin Public Works also states an in-depth inspection will be conducted on the bridge July 27-31 while the bridge repair is taking place, but there will be no additional impact to traffic during this inspection.

The maintenance work is unrelated to the ongoing effort to replace the Redbud Trail Bridge, according to the release.
