TxDOT to reduce Bee Caves Road to two lanes over weekend

The Texas Department of Transportation will reduce RR 2244, better known as Bee Caves Road, to one lane in each direction throughout the weekend.

A press release from TxDOT states the road reduction will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, and remain in effect until 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. It will span from Beaver Trail to Rollingwood Drive.

The release states the lane reduction serves to allow crews to safely widen the roadway from Blueridge Trail to Walsh Tarlton Lane. Traffic will be shifted throughout the duration of the work, and police officers will be on-site to help direct motorists.

Road conditions and traffic updates are available on the TxDOT Austin Twitter account and at www.drivetexas.org.
