The city of Lakeway was recognized as a Platinum Scenic City this month, which is the highest level awarded within the 2020 Scenic City Certification program.

According to an Oct. 27 news release from the city, Lakeway was one of 85 Texas cities to be certified as a Scenic City this year—and one of only 19 to receive platinum certifications.

The award, which Lakeway will retain until 2025, is a step up from the city’s previous gold designation, which it received in October 2019, according to the release.

The Scenic City Certification Program evaluates cities based on their parks, trails, landscaping and current city ordinances, the release states.

Lakeway received 314 points out of an available 338, per the release.
