Arkansas Bend Park to reopen after completion of renovations

Arkansas Bend Park, a 323-acre expanse in the Lago Vista area along the north shores of Lake Travis, will officially reopen June 15.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Gerald Daugherty, Travis County commissioner for Precinct 3, will mark the official reopening of the park following recently completed renovations.

The park’s new features include two boat ramps, improved campsites, trails and an improved day-use area with a playground, picnic tables, grills and restrooms. A release put out by Travis County Parks states Arkansas Bend Park has 2 miles of shoreline and offers opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, picnicking and lake access via two boat ramps and a courtesy dock.

“Several inviting, shaded picnic tables and a playground are situated along the point on a bluff above a gently sloping rocky waterfront,” the release states.
