Planned Projects

  1. RM 620 widening

The Texas Department of Transportation is developing a project to widen RM 620 from four lanes to a six-lane, divided road from West Hwy. 71 to the Colorado River.

Bid date: August 2023

Cost: $80 million

2. RM 2222 acceleration lane, median

TxDOT will add an acceleration lane and raised median to a stretch of RM 2222, from City Park Road to Loop 360.

Bid date: Feb. 1, 2020

Cost: $1 million

3. West Hwy. 71 median, left-turn lane

TxDOT will add a center median and left-turn lane to a section of West Hwy. 71, from the Blanco County line to Paleface Ranch Road. The project is under development.

Development: Nov. 1, 2016-Sept. 28, 2018

Cost: $13 million

4. Lohmans Spur Road extension

Lohmans Spur Road will be extended near the site of Lakeway’s new police facility. The project has completed preliminary engineering design.

Timeline: June 2017-December 2018

Cost: $1 million

Ongoing Projects

5. Bee Caves Road expansion

Two projects to add a continuous left-turn lane on Bee Caves Road from Redbud Trail to Walsh Tarlton Lane are underway.

Timeline: November 2016-summer 2019

Cost: $23 million

6. Ongoing Water Control and Improvement District 10 projects

WCID 10 began in October installing water lines along Limerick Lane and Old Stonehenge Street.  A water line is also being installed on Redbud Trail, from Old Stonehenge Street to Flintridge Trail.

Recent Updates

7. Nob Hill Circle and Skyline Drive water lines

WCID 10 in November began installing water lines on Nob Hill Circle and a portion of Skyline Drive in West Lake Hills.

Timeline: November-spring

8. Steiner Ranch Blvd. traffic signal

Installation of a traffic signal at the intersection Steiner Ranch Boulevard and RM 620 began Nov. 13.

Timeline: Nov. 13-April

Cost: $250,000

9. RM 620 repaving

TxDOT plans to repave RM 620 from the Mansfield Dam to RM 2222 and from Anderson Mill Road to SH 45  N. at US 183. Timeline: mid-2018

Cost: $1.79 million
