Published Aug. 25 at 1:35 p.m. Pedernales Electric Cooperative staff has prepared for potential power outages due to Hurricane Harvey, according to a press release issued by the PEC today. PEC support staff will be monitoring the cooperative’s electric system and line crews will be available to respond to power outages related to the storm, the statement said. "While we are unable to predict the number of outages that may occur, or where they may occur, during the storm, we plan in advance to be prepared to respond efficiently and safely to all events, especially of this magnitude," PEC spokesperson Clinton Lancaster said. PEC members experiencing power outages can call 888-883-3379 or visit pec.smarthub.coop. Power outages and estimated restoration times will be posted online at https://outages.pec.coop and on the SmartHub app, according to the PEC press release. Residents can check out www.pec.coop/harvey for updates as the storm continues.
