Ongoing projects




  1. Approximately 2 miles of Flint Rock Road—between RR 620 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Lakeway and Serene Hills Drive—will be widened and an asphalt shoulder added. The intersection of Flintrock Trace at the former site of Flint Rock Road closed May 22 for construction and water line work. It will reopen in June.

  2. An $80 million project is in development to widen
    RR 620 from four lanes to a six-lane, divided road stretching from West Hwy. 71 to the Colorado River. The Texas Department of Transportation is managing the project.

  3. A $9.8 million project to construct a four-lane urban roadway with a continuous left-turn lane, storm drains and signals on Bee Caves Road is underway from just east of Redbud Trail to 1,000 feet west of Buckeye Trail.


    A $13.2 million project to construct a four-lane urban roadway on Bee Caves Road with a continuous left-turn lane, storm drains and signals is underway from 1,000 feet west of Buckeye to Walsh Tarlton Lane.

  4.  Improvements costing about $291,000 to Hurst Creek Road include an asphalt overlay from Lohmans Crossing to Brooks Hollow Road and area surface patch work.

    Recent updates




  5. MoPac toll lanes


    Work continues on the MoPac express toll lanes between Parmer Lane and Cesar Chavez Street. In the coming weeks, the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority expects to reopen the northbound auxiliary, or merge lane, between 35th and 45th streets. Friction course paving southbound between US 183 and RM 2222 was expected to begin during the week of  June 12. The MoPac contractor previously expected to complete the project in June, but the agency is now anticipating the project will be finished sometime this summer.

  6. Pedestrian  hybrid beacon install


    A pedestrian hybrid beacon will be installed this summer at the Westbank Drive pedestrian crossing to Westlake High School in West Lake Hills. The beacon, which flashes red lights above a crosswalk to indicate walkers are present, resulted from an agreement between the county and Eanes ISD.

  7. Flintridge Road waterline install


    A Water Control & Improvement
    District 10 bond project to install an 8-inch diameter pipe under Flintridge Road to Redbud Trail went out for bids in May. Construction could begin in June.

  8. Beacon, lighting installation


    A flashing beacon and safety lighting will be installed on West Hwy. 71 at Fall Creek Road.Timeline: July 1, 2016-August 2017
