Wags Thrift Store is a secondhand store in Hudson Bend that opened in November to benefit local animal shelters. Located at 3411B N. RM 620, Austin, the business was started by longtime nurse Holly Hall, who after years of work in public service decided to combine her two favorite things: animals and thrift shopping, she said.

The shop offers a variety of items, including clothing and accessories, furniture, decor and more, and held an adoption event in December. Hall said she has big plans for the store, including a work-in-progress coffee shop, a community garden and more adoption events.

“I would like to bring the community together and make it easier for people to adopt cats and dogs,” Hall said.

Since its opening, the shop has made donations to the Austin Humane Society at 124 W. Anderson Lane, Austin, and plans to make donations to a variety of other local animal shelters in the future, Hall said. With its location between other area thrift shops to the east and south, Wags Thrift Store is in the perfect location to serve the community, she said.
