The learning circles, which will take place five days a week, will serve children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade through a collaboration with Kidventure, a Texas-based summer and day camp provider.
Each group will be no longer than six children and will be led by a Kidventure mentor, according to a press release from the Lakeway Activity Center. Further, each circle will have its own classroom.
“Together, they form a circle designed to accomplish their school’s academic curriculum in a camp-like atmosphere to seeks to promote the mental, social and physical well-being of each student,” the release states.
Classrooms will be equipped with necessary internet access, and the program will also allow for outdoor activities. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the classes will be regularly sanitized.
The program will implement several safety precautions including temperature checks, social distancing and face coverings, according to the Lakeway Activity Center.
Families will be required to complete a request form in order to enroll their children, which can be found on the Kidventure website, along with additional information on the program. 512-263-8992. www.kidventure.com/learningcircle
