The Contemporary Austin announces new executive director

The Contemporary Austin announced Feb. 21 that Sharon Maidenberg will take over as the museum’s new executive director and CEO. The museum was founded in 2013 focused on contemporary artists and offers exhibitions, educational opportunities and various events. The Contemporary Austin’s Laguna Gloria sculpture park located at 3809 W. 35th St., Austin, opened last spring with 30 outdoor sculptures. "I am thrilled to take on my next professional opportunity in one of the country's most dynamic and rapidly evolving cities,” Maidenberg said in a press release, which states that she has been an active member of the California Bay Area nonprofit arts community for 20 years. 512-458-8191. www.thecontemporaryaustin.org
