Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas will be unveiling a sculpture at their facilities on Saturday in memory of Benjamin Breedlove.

Breedlove, a former Dell Children’s patient and Westlake High School student, suffered from a heart condition that caused him to go into cardiac arrest on numerous occasions. He died in December of 2011.

The angel wing sculpture was donated to the hospital by Sculptor Bobby Jacobs, Director of Development Susan Hewlitt said. Titled “Gabriel,” the angel wings represent the presence of an angel Breedlove said he felt during his bouts of cardiac arrest, she said.

There will also be a plaque alongside the statue that reads “Do you believe in angels or God?”, a reference to a quote from Breedlove’s YouTube video which went viral before his death, Hewlitt said.

The event will take place in the hospital’s healing garden from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
