On Nov. 4, residents of the city of Rollingwood will vote on three City Council seats in a general election, and a city sales tax for road maintenance and repairs in a special election.

The overview

The council seats up for a vote this year in the general election, which each have a term of two years, are currently held by council members Brook Brown, Phil McDuffee and Alec Robinson.

Three candidates filed to run in the election: Brook Brown, Phil McDuffee and Kevin Schell. Alec Robinson withdrew his candidate filing the day after filing closed, Rollingwood City Secretary Makayla Rodriguez said.

The deadline for filing for a place on the election ballot was Aug. 18.

The road tax was introduced in 2009 and is subject to a public vote every four years, having last been authorized on Nov. 2, 2021, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
