Lakeway's newly-appointed City Secretary Desiree Adair began serving the council on July 15.

Some background

City Manager Joseph Molis appointed Adair, and City Council approved her appointment at a June 17 meeting.

She replaces Jo Ann Touchstone, who's decade-long tenure with Lakeway ended in May after she accepted a role with Bee Cave.

Adair has also swapped cities—hailing from her role as Rollingwood's Assistant City Administrator.

Prior to her time with Rollingwood, Adair worked for other municipalities in Texas and Arizona in office administration, best practices program management and human resources, according to a city spokesperson.

The impact

The Lakeway city secretary responsibilities include the following, according to the city charter:
  • providing access to public records and city information
  • serving as the chief officer for municipal elections
  • recording all legislative actions of the City Council
  • archiving and preserving government documents
Quote of note

“I am grateful for and appreciative of my time working for the City of Rollingwood and look forward to serving the citizens, council, and staff of the City of Lakeway. Working for the City of Lakeway is an exciting opportunity," said Adair in a statement to Community Impact.
