Bee Cave City Council approved an agreement requesting use of Travis County's election equipment for the city's May election.

The gist

Bee Cave will hold a general election on May 4 to elect a mayor and two council members.

The resolution, which was approved at a Jan. 24 City Council meeting, requires Bee Cave to provide at least one accessible voting system at each polling location. Travis County will provide Bee Cave’s polling locations with election equipment, according to city documents.

The final cost to conduct the election will be submitted to Bee Cave once Travis County knows the number of participating entities. The amount requested so far was $10,000, according to city documents.

Bee Cave has entered into agreements with Travis County in previous years to conduct elections with their election equipment.

What’s next?

After the contracts are signed by Bee Cave, they will go to Travis County Commissioner’s Court for approval.
