Editor's note: the Travis County Sheriff's Office reported the roadway was in a cleanup stage at 5:30 p.m. Earlier evacuations were no longer necessary, according to an update on the sheriff's office Twitter account.

An overturned propane truck resulted Sept. 30 in the temporary closing of Flint Rock Road near Pawnee Pass. The incident occurred near the Lakeway city limits in an area within Travis County, according to a release by the city of Lakeway.

As of 3:30 p.m., travel lanes in both directions of Flint Rock were closed, said Jarrod Wise, spokesperson for the city of Lakeway. About 15 residences on Golden Bear Drive were evacuated as a precautionary measure due to a small propane leak created by the incident, Wise said.

Because the incident was not within city limits, Lake Travis Fire & Rescue and the Travis County Sheriff's Office are coordinating the response.

Work to remove the overturned delivery truck is ongoing, Wise said.

"The anticipation is that it will be removed later this afternoon or this evening," he said.

Residents in the area have called for traffic-calming measures along Flint Rock.
