Scott Crosby, River Place MUD secretary and president of the River Place Homeowners Association, led a community meeting Tuesday to talk about the trail and collect names for a volunteer committee. “I think everybody has realized the trail has become extremely popular, not only on weekends but on weekdays now,” Crosby said. “I got a text the other day that there were 70 cars at noon on a weekday down at the lower trail entrance.” With cars parking on both sides of the street, residents are concerned about safety issues. According to Crosby, the volunteer group will have weekly meetings, with the goal to come up with a proposal within a 60-day time frame. Friends of River Place Trail, a resident-led group unaffiliated with the River Place MUD, provides maps and other resources about the trail system.
