Update 9:33 p.m.

Although ballots are still being counted, results show Kim McMath will serve as Place 1 on the Eanes ISD board of trustees.

Candidate John Troy conceded in a statement on his official Facebook page congratulating McMath, who received 63.66% as of 9:30 p.m.

"While we had fewer votes, there is still much to celebrate tonight," Troy said. "More people voted in this school board race than ever before."

Original story

Eanes ISD will see the addition of a new board of trustees member to serve in Place 1, a position previously held by Christie Bybee. With Travis County polling locations closing at 7 p.m. Nov. 3, early voting in EISD shows Kim McMath with a lead over John Troy.

McMath received 11,156, or 63.81%, of early votes casts, while Troy received 6,328 votes.

Current trustee John Havenstrite and resident Laura Clark are also running unopposed for Places 3 and 2, respectively.

The EISD Place 1 seat is an at-large position, meaning the election winner will represent the entire school district. Each trustee is elected to serve a three-year term.

Results are updated as of 7:08 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4 if they were sent from inside the U.S. or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.
