A variety of Eanes ISD's 2023 bond projects are making headway, including projects at elementary schools impacted by the upcoming campus blend.

The board of trustees unanimously approved job order contracts for five 2023 bond projects during its April 8 meeting.

Two-minute impact

The job order contracts include:
  • Adult Transition Services: interior renovation and kitchen expansion
  • Barton Creek Elementary: additional staff restrooms; portable classroom infrastructure and finish-out
  • Forest Trail Elementary: restroom addition
  • Yellow House facility: roof replacement
The board discussed the implementation of the Barton Creek Elementary portable learning studios at its last meeting March 25.

Valley View Elementary is set to close at the end of this school year and blend its campus with Barton Creek, requiring the portables. Subsequent attendance zone redrawing will also add students to Forest Trail Elementary's enrollment.

Renovations of the current administration building at 601 Camp Craft Road, which is also the board meeting location, are still expected to be complete by this summer, according to district officials.

The $1.8 million project is utilizing 2023 bond funds to renovate the building to become the new location of The Learning Center.

Board meetings are being temporarily held at Cedar Creek Elementary. The new board room will be located next to Chapparral Stadium, and officials anticipate the first meeting will be held in the new location in June.
