Eanes ISD families can start planning ahead for the next two school years with the newly approved academic calendars.

The board of trustees approved the 2025-26 and 2026-27 calendars during its regular board meeting Dec. 10.

Some context

The District Leadership Team and campus principals meet to make academic calendar recommendations to the board using feedback from campus leadership teams and campus staff, said Molly May, assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and assessment.

The team typically tries to present two academic year calendars at a time for adoption, she said. Staff work calendars are developed and posted after the school calendars are adopted.

Dates to know

Similar to calendars for the past two years, the 2025-26 school year will begin on a Wednesday, end the Friday before Memorial Day, and have its spring break aligned with Austin Community College and other local districts.

Key dates include:
  • Aug. 13: first day of school
  • Sept. 1; Oct. 10, 13; Jan. 19; Feb. 13, 16; April 3, 6: student/staff holidays
  • Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break
  • Dec. 22-Jan. 5: winter break
  • March 16-20: spring break
  • May 22: last day of school
Looking ahead

The 2026-27 calendar follows similar dates to the 2025-26 calendar, with the exception of the school year ending on May 21, a full week before Memorial Day. Additionally, the Good Friday holiday will fall on March 26, only one week after spring break.

Spring break is slated for March 15-19, but May said this is subject to change, pending alignment with ACC and other local districts.
