A handful of projects that will be funded with some of the 2023 bond package funds were unanimously approved by the Eanes ISD board of trustees during its regular meeting March 26.

The breakdown

Voters approved the $131.4 million bond package last May, which featured three propositions for safety and security upgrades, campus and Chaparral Stadium refurbishments, student and staff digital device replacements, and more.

During the meeting, the board approved nearly $1.9 million worth of bond funds for the following projects:
  • $201,093 to renew a one-year contract with Skyward SIS, the district’s student information system.
  • $339,973 to replace flooring at Hill Country Middle School. Work will begin this summer.
  • $197,690 for 265 new Westlake Chaparral Marching Band uniforms. The existing uniforms were purchased in 2016 via bond funds.
  • $1.14 million to replace windows at Bridge Point and Eanes Elementary campuses. Work will begin this summer.
The board also approved two purchase orders for 11 white fleet vehicles for the district, which include Ford trucks, transit cargo vans and transit passenger vans. These vehicles will replace the district’s current fleet, which have “reached the end of their useful life-cycle,” according to district documents.

The bids come from Platinum Ford North at $57,182 and Sames Ford Bastrop at $399,255. Superintendent Jeff Arnett or another designee will negotiate the final cost at a later date, but funds will also come from the 2023 bond.
