What’s happening?
LTISD's board of trustees voted to call an election on May 4 for Place 1 and Place 2 board positions at a Jan. 17 meeting. This comes as the three-year terms for Place 1 board member Phillip Davis and Place 2 board member Lauren White are set to expire.
White is a former elementary and special education teacher who was first elected to the board in 2018 and re-elected in 2021, according to previous reporting by Community Impact. Davis, an associate dean for faculty success and research at Texas State University, was elected in 2021.
Both White and Davis told Community Impact they plan to seek re-election. Candidates may file for a place on the ballot from Jan. 17-Feb. 16, according to district documents.
Looking ahead
Early voting will occur from April 22-30 at the Travis County Airport Boulevard Offices, 5501 Airport Blvd., Austin, according to district documents. Election day will be held May 4 at any Travis County voting center.
More early voting locations will be announced at a later date.
