The background

The $143 million bond package would fund new athletic facilities for High School No. 2 opening in 2027 and expansions or upgrades to athletics facilities at current campuses.

This year’s election comes after voters approved a $548 million school facilities proposition allowing the district to build a second high school in 2022 but did not pass a $93 million proposition for the campus to have athletic facilities. Over 70% of the 2023 bond would go toward facilities for football, soccer, baseball, track and field, and lacrosse teams, among other student groups, at High School No. 2.
