The Lake Travis-Westlake area has three school districts that have felt the effects of the pandemic.

Located in the Westlake region, Eanes ISD is expecting 7,770 students to attend the district in 2022-23 across its nine campuses with about 600 teachers.

Lake Travis ISD is a school district in western Travis County with more than 11,300 students who attend the district’s 11 campuses and has 673 teachers.

Leander ISD educates 41,780 students at its 44 campuses—eight of which fall within the Lake Travis-Westlake region—and has 2,970 teachers.

Student enrollment

Enrollment dipped in all three districts between the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years. Eanes ISD continues to see a lower enrollment. However, Lake Travis and Leander ISDs are noting a rebound in enrollment as they welcome more students.

Staffing, salaries and substitutes

All three districts have a similar starting pay for teacher, while Lake Travis ISD pays its superintendent about $50,000 more than its counterparts. Here is more data:

All three districts have lower numbers of economically disadvantaged, English learner and special education students than the statewide average, with the exception of Leander ISD having more special education students.
