PharmAssist, a Westlake High School Business Incubator team, was one of two teams chosen for funding at the National Pitch competition in Chicago on July 13. The business offers a simplified and personalized medication platform that reduces risks and increases user safety, according to a press release from Eanes ISD.

The team was awarded up to $10,000 with the condition that funds raised on their own will be matched by NCubatoredu, the entrepreneurship program running the competition. The team also won the Westlake High School Business Incubator Pitch Night in May, earning $15,000.

The team is composed of rising seniors, including Andrew Depwe, Zach Edens, Mason Mireur, Amaan Rumi, Parker Steen and Megan Swett.

The Westlake High School Business Incubator is an entrepreneurial class based on the Lean Startup method, which prioritizes shorter development product cycles to quickly determine the viability of the business model. Students acquire foundational business concepts and then apply them to the team’s business idea from its early inception to the pitch.
