Lake Travis ISD will consider calling a bond election in November at its July 20 meeting for three propositions totaling $703 million.

Proposition A includes $548.41 million for school district facilities, necessary sites and new school buses. Proposition B allots $60.79 million for technology improvements, while Proposition C issues $93.8 million for school stadium facilities.

Projects included in the bond propositions include:
  • a new high school;
  • the new Elementary School No. 8;
  • the new Elementary School No. 9;
  • Lake Travis High School additions and upgrades;
  • campus and district renovations and improvements;
  • facilities condition assessment projects;
  • technology; and
  • land.
More information on each of these bond propositions will be available during the board meeting. All three propositions include language allowing the district to levy a property tax increase to repay the bonds.

The board may also call a meeting Aug. 17 to discuss and adopt the proposed 2022-23 budget and tax rate. This measure would lower the tax rate from $1.2301 to $1.2121, in compliance with state law, according to district documents.

The meeting will be July 20 at 6 p.m. in the Education Development Center at 607 N. RM 620, Austin. Several other items are on the agenda for discussion and decision, and participants wishing to speak during the meeting must sign up in advance. More information on agenda items can be found on the district's website.
