The Lake Travis ISD board of trustees recognized at their March 23 meeting Special Olympics athletes who participated in the Special Olympics Texas February 2022 Winter Games. The Lake Travis Special Olympics Cycling Team competed in the event Feb. 19 at Bee Cave Middle School. Results from the competition are listed below.

Hudson Bend Middle School

Reagan O'Grady: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

Lake Travis Middle School

Gracie Crook: 500 meter time trial, 1st Place


Lake Travis High School

Sheriden Gorden: 1K time trial, 2nd Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

Jack Halford: 1K time trial, 3rd Place; 5K time trial, 2nd Place

Reagan Lowman: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 5K time trial, 2nd Place


Torrence Spence: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 500 meter time trial, 1st Place

Jason Walden: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

Age 18-plus program

Reno Dees: 1K time trial, 2nd Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place


Travis Hodde: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

Emelia Holmertz: 1K time trial, 1st Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

Austin Speight: 10K time trial, 2nd Place; 5K time trial, 1st Place

The cycling team has 13 members, including Jace Cochran, Gracie Crook and Hayden Trigg from Lake Travis Middle School; Reagan O'Grady from Hudson Bend Middle School; Sheriden Gorden, Jack Halford, Reagan Lowman, Torrence Spence and Jason Walden from Lake Travis High School; and Reno Dees, Travis Hodde, Emelia Holmertz and Austin Speight from the age 18-plus program, which offers continued assistance to special education graduates of LTISD.
