Classes will resume for both in-person and virtual students in light of restored electricity, internet connectivity and water service.
LTISD’s maintenance and custodial crews began assessing and repairing any minor damages caused by the storm Feb. 18, according to an update from Superintendent Paul Norton. At that time, each campus had electricity; however, West Cypress Hills Elementary School was without water service.
As of Feb. 22, water service has been restored at the elementary school, though a boil water notice remains in effect under Cypress Ranch Water Control and Improvement District No. 1—the school’s water utility provider.
WCHE Food and Nutrition Services Department has put necessary protocols are in place for preparing meals under these circumstances. Additionally, LTISD is urging all in-person students districtwide to bring personal water bottles from home.
