Tracie Mojica, a fifth-grade teacher at Bridge Point Elementary School, was named Eanes ISD’s 2020 Educator of the Year on May 13.
The celebration took place during the district’s annual Employee Recognition and Retiree Celebration, which took place virtually.
Mojica has been educating for 18 years, all of which have been spent serving EISD. Throughout her time she has taught fifth-grade, fourth-grade and third-grade students.
She has also served the district as a member of the English Language Arts, Social Studies and Royal Science of Biology Committees. Mojica has acted as a mentor teacher of the Central Texas Writing Institute, among other contributions to public education.
During the celebration, her peers described her as a light within the Bridge Point community.
“She is a master at building relationships and bringing out the best qualities in everyone,” an EISD press release said. “Tracie doesn't need a scripted lesson plan to teach a lesson; her creativity shines in the classroom as she comes up with meaningful lessons that the kids enjoy.”
