A $105,000 budget provision was approved for the replacement of a band trailer, which stores the band's instruments, during the Lake Travis ISD board of trustees meeting Feb. 19. Funding was previously allocated within the district’s 2018 bond program.
The current trailer was purchased about 10 years ago and will be auctioned off by the district, according to Johnny Hill, assistant superintendent for business, financial and auxiliary services.
“It is past its useful life,” Hill said. “We’ve almost doubled the band size in the last 10 years.”
The new equipment trailer will be multideck and will feature increased storage space for the band’s equipment. Though it will be predominantly used by the Lake Travis High School band, the trailer will be available for the entire district, Hill said.
