During the month of August, local school districts approved tax rates for the 2017-18 fiscal year. The following map compares each district's adopted tax rates for FY 2017-18 with those in FY 2016-17.

A district's maintenance and operations tax rate, or M&O, represents the tax revenue used for school operations, while a district's interest and sinking rate, or I&S, represents debt services. Tax rates listed are per $100 of valuation.


The following graph compares the total tax rate for FY 2017-18 for each area school district.


*Round Rock ISD board of trustees is scheduled to take action on the tax rate Sept. 21. The data in the graph represents the district's proposed tax rate.
