LAKE TRAVIS ISD board of trustees began to review preliminary renderings of LTISD’s Middle School No. 3 and Elementary School No. 7 during fall 2015, LTISD Director of Communications Marco Alvarado said.
“Any expansion in school [building space] is driven by enrollment growth,” LTISD Superintendent Brad Lancaster said. “We’ve grown 35 percent in the last five years alone. We have a lot of kids coming into the district.”
The new elementary school will likely be modeled after West Cypress Hills Elementary School, and the new middle school will likely be modeled after Lake Travis Middle School, which has received recognition for its concept and design, Alvarado said.
“No action has been taken yet, but the directive is for architects to come back in the spring with updated renderings,” he said.
Lancaster said he is excited to be part of a school district that is experiencing growth in enrollment.
