Lakeway City Manager Julie Oakley held a town hall meeting for residents on Feb. 17 to explain the development process and give an overview of nine major projects underway in the city. Updates included four commercial developments, three mixed-use developments, one athletic complex and one residential development.



Commercial Developments

Overlook at Lakeway: Two medical office buildings at Flint Rock Road and RM 620 are currently under construction. The project is being built in two phases with a 45,000 square foot building for phase one and a 24,000 square foot building for phase two.

Cherry Peak Office Condos: A two-phase development on Wild Cherry Drive just north of Lake Travis High School. The first part of the development south of Wild Cherry Drive is nearing the end of completion with nine shells finished and occupied and 13 shells completed. The development will have 15 buildings total in the 42,500 square foot parcel of land. The second phase of the project is across the road and will consist of 13 buildings totaling 27,500 square feet, according to documents from its conceptual plan.


Garages of Texas: A luxury car garage condo currently under construction off of RM 620 at 1009 N. RM 620, Lakeway. The more than-88,000 square foot project will have six buildings.

The Learning Experience: A 10,730-square-foot childcare facility currently under construction at 1602 N. RM 620 just north of Garages of Texas.

Athletic Complex

Bee Creek Sports Complex: A joint project between the city of Lakeway and Travis County currently in the site development phase. The complex is at 4440 Bee Creek Road, Briarcliff and will have five soccer fields.


Residential Developments

The Hillsong Development: A planned-unit development on 25.949 acres just west of the Overlook at Lakeway. The final plat for this project has been approved and will include 126 residential dwelling units and 3,000 square feet of commercial space.

Mixed-use developments

East Side Landings: A 43.8 acre mixed-use development at 17301 Flint Rock Road, Lakeway. The project will include 30 R-1 homes as well as a 24.4 acre R-1 lot that could be subdivided into multiple R-1 lots in the future. An amended development agreement for this project was approved at the Feb. 22 council meeting.


The Square on Lohmans: A mixed-use development off of Lohmans Crossing Road that will include 322 residential dwelling units and 350,000 square feet of commercial space. The project is still currently at its preliminary planning stages and will be completed in phases starting with the extension of Main Street and Lohmans Spur Road and the creation of a roundabout.

The Oaks: A mixed-use development just east of The Square on Lohmans off of Main Street. The development is planned to include 261 apartments, 28 townhomes and a parkland dedication. The development is currently in the rezoning phase.
