The planned development district in Bee Cave known as Gateway to Falconhead could soon have a private school as a new tenant.

During Bee Cave City Council’s May 12 meeting, officials voted to allow an adjustment to the development standards at Gateway to Falconhead in its Area 1, which was designated for retail and commercial tenants, according to a city document. Council's vote essentially allowed Area 1 of the development to be modified to include the school.

The Magnolia School, a private school offering preschool, elementary and middle school instruction, has requested to open with an enrollment of 70 students and proposed to expand to a maximum of 80 students, according to city information.

According to the proposal, The Magnolia School would occupy 10,466 square feet of the 15,000-square-foot Building G in Area 1 of the Gateway to Falconhead.

City information states the school will also make use of a 12,500-square-foot playground located at the rear of the building.
