Serene Hills Independent Living, a planned senior living community owned by Serene Hills, LTD., has been granted final plat approval for its 164-unit facility at the intersection of Hwy. 71 and Bee Creek Road.

Though the item was listed on the agenda, approval of the final plat was granted administratively so no action from City Council was required at the June 17 meeting.

The facility, which is still in the design planning phase, will sit on a 9.259-acre tract of land, is planned to have associated parking and requires no public infrastructure extensions. City information states access to the facility will be taken directly from Bee Creek Road via the existing driveway to the property.

Previous actions on the property included the reduction of commercial and retail space from 30,000 square feet to less than 10,000 square feet in October 2018, paving the way for the mainly residential senior living facility.
