Following a July 30 groundbreaking, the Sunset Canyon Baptist Church community is watching plans for its new Family Life Center come to fruition.
“We hope to complete the project by spring of 2018,” Ministry Assistant Amy Little said. “The project is funded through a capital campaign within our church family as well as through a bond offering.”
The center will be located on the grounds of the 26-year-old church—4000 E. Hwy. 290, Dripping Springs—and include a 21,000-square-foot facility to house education space, multipurpose rooms and a gymnasium, she said. Church programs such as children’s ministries, preschool and Mother’s Day Out will function in the new addition, she said.
“Everywhere you look as you travel the major highways or the county roads around Dripping Springs, you see change,” said Senior Pastor Lonny Poe in a news release. “New businesses, new construction, and new homes signal the continual influx of new people. This new construction project, a Family Life Center, reflects the growth of our community, maintains our purpose to serve and enhances our ability to minister to the families of Dripping Springs.”
