Elevated water storage tank to serve Bee CaveBee Cave City Council unanimously approved the construction of an elevated water storage tank Aug. 11. The tank will be located at 394 Avispo Bonita Way, Bee Cave—one mile west of the intersection of Hamilton Pool Road and W. Hwy. 71. The project is under the purview of the West Travis County Public Utility Agency, which also owns the 19-acre site on which the tank will be located on. The new tank will serve Falconhead, Spanish Oaks, The Homestead and the Bee Cave Parkway corridor including the Mountain Laurel, Rough Hollow and Sweetwater neighborhoods, WTCPUA engineer Dennis Lozano said. Murfee Engineering is designing the project that features a 240-foot-tall water tower with 1 million gallons of capacity, he said. Council Member Kara King said the height of the tower may be distracting to the city’s landscape but agreed with Lozano, who said the capacity was essential for the growing community. “[The tower] will bring more consistent, reliable water service to pump stations,” WTCPUA General Manager Don Rauschuber said. Construction is set to begin this fall and finish in 10 months , Lozano said.
