So far throughout Travis County there has been high turnout through four days of early voting, and data from the Travis County Clerk show the Lake Travis-Westlake area mirroring that trend.
By comparing four polling locations in western Travis County, some stark differences are evident. Most notably, early voting in the 2018 midterm is significantly closer to the 2016 presidential election than the 2014 midterms.
As one example, during the 2014 joint general and special elections, turnout at Bee Cave City Hall after day four of early voting topped out at 572. During the same time period for the 2016 presidential joint general and special elections, that total climbed to 5,077. For the 2018 joint general and special elections through the first four days of early voting, the total at Bee Cave City Hall only dropped to 4,719.
