Austin Public Health reported a total of 14,788 coronavirus cases in Travis County as of July 12. Of that, there have been 11,268 recovered cases and 169 fatalities.

Active cases in all of Travis County are estimated at approximately 3,351, based on the reported number of recoveries and fatalities. Austin Public Health does not report active cases per ZIP code.

There are 434 hospitalizations in the metropolitan statistical area of Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop and Caldwell counties, 87 of whom are on ventilators. The area’s intensive care units are holding 151 individuals, according to Austin Public Health officials.

Of the 14,788 COVID-19 cases, 754 originate from the Lake Travis-Westlake area, which encompasses nine ZIP codes in western Travis County.

The region has seen an increase in 136 new coronavirus cases since information released the previous week on July 7.


Among the nine ZIP codes, the 78746 area of West Lake Hills has consistently reported the highest number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Travis County. The total number of cases reached 181 as of July 12.
