Council Member Andrea Willott, who represents the city of Bee Cave on the Capitol Area Council of Governments executive board, updated residents on how that body is providing informational resources to cities amid the COVID-19 crisis.

CAPCOG is an entity that helps local governments with resources and planning for "emergency communications, elderly assistance, law enforcement training, criminal justice planning, solid waste reduction, homeland security planning, infrastructure development, transportation planning and economic development," according to its website.

Willott said that with help from CAPCOG, the city has added to its website a link to a public safety tool called www.WarnCentralTexas.org, which helps alert citizens to emergency and nonemergency situations that include weather warnings, evacuation notices and boil water alerts.

The city has also added a COVID-19 link that provides data on active cases, deaths, recoveries and total cases in the 10-county area covered by CAPCOG, Willott said.
