Lake Travis ISD, along with the rest of the state, will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year as mandated by Gov. Greg Abbott on April 17. The closure has been deemed necessary in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, but it has left families, students and staff with a number of questions.

LTISD is utilizing an anonymous survey through the online platform Thoughtexchange to gather input from the community amid the pandemic. The survey will be made available on the district’s website until May 1.

According to the district, the results will be used to ensure the needs of students, families and staff are being met in light of the pandemic.

Though names will remain confidential, the results of the survey will be shared at a later date. Participants will also have the ability to rate other survey responses.

LTISD utilized the same platform when deciding on the mascot and school name of Rough Hollow Elementary School.

“I firmly believe we are smarter and better together and I am asking you for five minutes today and another five minutes later this week to help us plan around COVID-19 and the conclusion of our school year,” Superintendent Brad Lancaster said in the survey notice.
