Lakeway Municipal Court received its 10th traffic safety award from the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center on June 15, the city announced in a press release.

The TMCEC releases awards annually for its 2022 Municipal Traffic Safety Initiatives Awards, which recognizes municipal courts demonstrating contributions to increasing traffic safety and preventing impaired driving, according to the city. Lakeway was recognized along with eight other low-volume courts, a category for cities with a population of 30,000 or fewer.

This award marks the 10th the city has received since 2008, making Lakeway's court the most awarded of any low-volume court in Texas, according to the press release.
