Lakeway city officials, staff and committee members put out a survey to benefit the city’s comprehensive plan through resident feedback on a number of topics—from what can be done to make Lakeway better to what city issues are most important to residents.

More than 900 respondents filled out the survey, and the city released highlights from those responses on its website.

The survey is helping to guide the Lakeway Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee as it continues its work toward a comprehensive plan estimated to be complete by this winter.

The steering committee launched the survey April 13 at Lakeway’s Eggstravaganza! At City Park event, and residents were able to fill it out until May 24.

"We collected 974 responses to the survey and received more than 2,700 comments," information from Lakeway's website states. "Based on that feedback, we’ve created a ranking of the five top priorities and the most frequently used words and phrases from comments."

Included in the results, survey respondents prioritized "city character" as No. 1, followed by community facilities and programs, the environment, transportation and community infrastructure.

The steering committee is still taking input on the comprehensive plan, and residents wishing to submit comments can click here.
